What is an E-medical?

E-medical is the new electronic medical data collection system. From June 30th 2015 it will not be possible to have an immigration medical without using this system. The e-medicals can only be performed by approved clinics. For more information on the types of medical certificate and how to apply for them follow this link.

When will I get my results?

There is no need to wait for your results. They will be sent directly to the immigration office and a copy send to you at the same time. Should you require further investigations or a specialist opinion you will be informed in a timely manner. The process can usually be completed within 24-48 hours provided everything is normal.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your current passport, your glasses and any medication you may take. Past medical records can be helpful and save time where appropriate.

How much does it cost?

The prices will depend on the type of examination and whether you need an xray and blood tests. The prices are shown on the website. Please click here to check the service price list.

What are the payment options?

Eftpos, Card Scheme, Credit, Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard & Union).

How long will it take?

The total time should be between 60-90 minutes including bloods, xray and medical. The results will be submitted directly to Immigration New Zealand usually within 1-2 days.

Does menstruation prevent me from having a medical?

No but you may need to return to have a urine test at a later date.
